Do I need my own OpenAI key?
No. Managed AI is included. neotab handles the OpenAI calls for you, so there's nothing to set up or paste in.
What does neotab send to build a group?
Only the topic you type and the titles and URLs of your tabs. Page content, your typing and your logins stay in your browser. Guest mode sends nothing at all.
Does the AI read the pages I'm looking at?
No. It works from titles and URLs, not page content. Page content stays in your browser.
Do I need an account?
No. As a guest you can group and organize tabs fully on device, with no account and no AI. A free account adds 10 AI actions a month; your board still stays on your device. Cloud sync and the web dashboard come with Pro.
Can the AI mess up my board?
No. Every AI action is proposed for your review before it touches anything, and a response that invents, drops or duplicates an item is rejected whole. Everything is undoable, and deletions stay in Recently removed for 7 days.
Is $39 really one-time?
Yes. One payment includes sync, the web dashboard, and managed AI with no expiry. It never turns into a subscription. Pay once, never again. Prefer not to pay upfront? Pro Monthly is $5 a month for the same features.
What happens if I cancel Pro Monthly?
You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for; access is never cut mid-cycle. After that your account drops to the free plan. Your groups and sync data are kept, not wiped, so if you come back your board is exactly where you left it.
Is unlimited AI actually unlimited?
For a person, yes. There's a fair-use limit that only trips on automated or abusive activity, never on normal human use. We don't publish the exact threshold, but if you're using neotab by hand you will not reach it.
What does the extension need permission for?
Tabs, storage, the side panel, favicons and sign-in. Its one content script runs only on neotab.io/app, our own dashboard, to show your open tabs there. It never runs on any other site.

Chrome today. neotab installs as an extension with a side panel, a new-tab dashboard and the ⌘K command bar.
